————————

Michael Forbes is an audio engineer and consultant who graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2010 with a degree in Music & Technology. His career in live and recorded sound stands on a foundation of advanced music theory and performance as well as computer expertise. He began studying the piano at age 6, saxophone at age 9, bass at age 12, and voice at age 16, while participating in numerous bands, choirs, and solo performances.

Michael has 13 years of experience using DAW software and 8 specifically using Pro Tools, plus a lifetime of advanced computer use that includes programming, web design, and network support. His experience in commercial studios (Water Music, HarariVille, SkyRoom, Jam Studios, Audio Garden) and in building a personal studio has developed his strong command of the recording process, and a summer internship at a post-production facility (SoundImage NY) introduced him to television voiceover work. As president of the Stevens Underground Music Awareness Committee, he arranged for bands from around the country to visit campus for quarterly rock shows. Most recently, he took positions at Maxwell's, Mexicali Live, School of Rock, and the City of Hoboken Division of Cultural Affairs running live sound. On that rare weekend without a gig, Michael enjoys snowboarding, camping, scuba diving, and any other excuse for an adventure.
